One of my earliest memories of life is walking into the living room as a tot, music playing, and you moving your body in ways I’ve never seen before. “Come over” you called to me while still singing, “let’s see if you can do it too!” You kept singing along to the song playing which I went on to learn as “let’s do the twist” and had young, tiny me twisting my hips along with you, moving up and down to the lyrics while you kept singing each word like you wrote the song yourself. Even after all these years, that moment still plays in my head every time I hear that song.
